Training Link (TL) is a basic skills community learning centre in Somers Town in the London Borough of Camden, close to the British Library.
The courses we run can help people find work, or improve their basic skills in English and using computers. All our courses are free. Our main funders are Camden Giving, the Co-op Community Fund and the Crick Community Fund. We also receive support from the London Borough of Camden and the Fitzdale Trust.
We have an Open Day at the start of each term to enrol new learners – please see the News page for details. Anyone is welcome at our weekly Free Internet Cafe and Drop-In on Tuesday afternoons from 2pm to 4pm.
We have a meeting / training room available for hire in the evenings and at weekends. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
Training Link history
The organisation was established in 1985 as Women’s Training Link to provide learning activities for women who had limited education and training. In 1998 the organisation re-registered as Training Link, extending its services to both men and women. By then it had also moved to Somers Town from its original base in Holborn. In 2010 we celebrated our 25th anniversary – see photo below. In 2015 we were 30 years old, and had a concert with a local choir and jazz band to celebrate.
Our client group are predominately people who have had limited access to mainstream provision and who need help to move into the labour market.
Who We Are
A small team of staff and volunteers at Training Link provide our classes and offer support to our learners. They will do their best to answer your queries and to help you make good use of our resources.
Volunteering At Training Link
We are always interested in hearing from people who may wish to volunteer in the office, as a learning assistant or on our adult literacy project.
