About us

Training Link is a small adult learning community centre in Somers Town in the London Borough of Camden, close to the British Library.

We run free courses to help people find work or improve their skills in English language, maths and in using computers. Our main funders are Camden Council, the NHS PCAN employment project and the London Community Foundation.

We have an Open Day at the start of each term to enrol new learners – please see the News page for details.  All are welcome at our weekly Free Internet Cafe and Drop-Ins on Tuesday afternoons from 2pm to 5pm, and on Thursday afternoons from 2pm to 5pm.  We also provide one to one help with benefits and with job applications.

There is a meeting / training room and desk space available for hire at a reasonable price with a special rate available for very small charities.   Please email director@traininglink.org.uk or call 020 7383 5405 for more information.

Volunteers

Training Link has 30 volunteers and is very grateful for all their help.  Without them we could not provide our wide range of services.

Training Link history

The charity was established in 1985 as Women’s Training Link to provide learning activities for women who had limited education and training. In 1998 we re-registered as Training Link, extending our services to both men and women. By then we had also moved to Somers Town from our original base in Holborn. In 2010 we celebrated our 25th anniversary – see photo below. In 2015 we were 30 years old, and had a concert with a local choir and jazz band to celebrate.  We are looking forward to our fortieth anniversary in 2025.

Volunteering At Training Link

We are always interested in hearing from people who may wish to volunteer in the office, as a learning assistant or on our adult literacy project.
